Our History

It all started with the importance of having qualified teachers to teach young minds…

2016

2016 marks a new chapter for The Language Boutique, with a new website and brand new processes in place to ensure that everyone receives the best possible service from us. We’ve got so many plans for new classes and new opportunities that we can hardly wait to get started. Personal recommendations are still flooding in and we are contacted every day by families who are looking for our particular type of service – and we are only too happy to help!

2015

Our new partnership with MANHATTAN English Language Studio opened the doors for us to offer new and inspiring group classes. These grew in popularity during the year and every school holiday had a jam-packed schedule. We also branched out and started to offer Maths lessons alongside our traditional English classes.

2014

This year proved to be the most exciting yet for The Language Boutique as it was when we started to really grow our relationship with the international schools across Singapore. Our reputation meant that they had started recommending us to parents and using our services to complement their teaching. This was also the year that we combined forces with MANHATTAN English Language Studio and became sister schools!

2013

Given our expansion in 2012 it came as no surprise that we needed to hire even more teachers! We also rebranded and adopted our trademark yellow and black colours and launched a website for the very first time.

2012

During 2012, The Language Boutique started to move away from being just an ESL school and started to support students who wanted more general English support. This broadened our reach even more and we soon had a waiting list of families who wanted our help.

2011

2011 saw the school gather momentum in a big way as word got out that a new teaching style had landed on the little red dot. Emma had to considerably grow her staff numbers in order to meet the demand.

2010

This is where it all began! Emma Beckford decided that what was missing from Singapore was a language school for children that was committed to support every student individually with whatever help they needed. The Language Boutique was born!
